Mrs., Alice Katherine Hilliard died at her home, 305 East Magnolia, Monday, November 19th, after a lingering illness. Mrs. Hilliard had been a resident of Colorado for 25 years and had lived in Fort Collins the greater part of 16 years. She was well known by nearly all the old residents of the valley. She was born in Greenville county, Illinois in 1855, being 51 years old at the time of her death. She came to Fort Collins in 1890 and has spent the most of the 16 years of her sojourn here on a fruit ranch about four miles south of town, her husband dying in March 1896. Abou eight months ago she removed with her family from the ranch to Fort Collins locating at 305 Magnolia street. This winter of 1901 was spent in Loveland and Mrs. Hilliard made many friends during her stay there. She had been ill for several years but about a year ago suffered an attack of typhoid fever from which she never fully recovered. Eight children survive her, the youngest being only 10 years old. The[sic] are Curtis M., Charles, Fred, Bessie, Carl, Bertha, Delia and Irene. Funeral services will be held at the residence today at 2 o'clock. Rev. Jamieson of the United Presbyterian church officiating.
