Dale loved to golf and continued to do so into his 90s. He also loved to play Kings Down, a card game invented by he and his brother. He loved his church, the Albion Prairie Methodist Church, where he served as trustee and treasurer for many years. But most of all, he loved people and was always there for them, doing the little things to make their lives better. He was, as they called him at Sterling House, "A Ray of Sunshine."
Surviving are his daughter-in-law, Lynda Abbott of Seattle, WA; son, Richard Plumb; daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Russell Veitch; and granddaughter; all of Bowling Green. He is also survived by brothers, Mahlon of Merrillville, IN, and Roger of Plymouth, MN; his sister, Margaret (Peg) Luedtke of Coronado, CA; and brother-in-law, William Little of Stoddard, WI.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert; and brothers, William and Stanley.
Because Dale donated his body to the University of Toledo Medical College, there will be no visitation. However, there will be a Celebration of Life service held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at ALBION PRAIRIE METHODIST Church, Craig Rd., Edgerton, WI, followed by a luncheon at Coachman’s Inn, Edgerton, WI. Memorials in Dale’s name may be given to Albion Prairie Methodist Church in Wisconsin, Simpson Garden Park in Bowling Green, or The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
