daughter of Thomas Jones and Tabitha Blackwell. She was orphaned as an infant in a cholera epidemic (her parents died in June of 1849) and adopted by John and Jane Lilly.

Mrs. David Blackwell
Mrs. David Blackwell died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C.R. Fudge, Eleventh and State streets, Monday, April 15. The funeral services were held from Mrs. Fudge's residence Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, and were conducted by Dr. J.W. Waldron. Interment was in Larned Cemetery.

Ellen Augusta Jones was born at Brighton, Ill., April 21, 1849, and died in Larned, Kan., April 15, 1918, aged 68 years, 11 months and 25 days.

She was united in marriage to David Blackwell, October 31, 1867. To this union were born six children, four sons and two daughters. A son and daughter have preceded the mother to the eternal world. The husband, three sons and one daughter survive her. The children are: Geo. Blackwell, Chas. Blackwell, Wm Blackwell and Mrs. Nettie Fudge, all of this county.

Mr. and Mrs. Blackwell came to Kansas nineteen years ago, locating in Pawnee County, where they have resided since that time.

Sister Blackwell united with the Methodist Episcopal church when a small girl. She was a woman who was kind to everyone, a maker of friends, patient and willing to help others. She has gone to join the hosts that worship the King. Let all who knew her learn to love her God.
