Antonio R. Botelho, a past resident of Wilbur Street in Taunton, died Monday Dec 20, 1993 in Attleboro after a long illness. He was 83. He was the husband of Mary C. (Bernardo) Botelho. Mr. Botelho was born in Villa Franca, Portugal and moved to Taunton 73 years ago. He was the son of the late Joseph and Maria (Soares) Botelho. Mr. Botelho worked for many years at the former Mount Hope Finishing Company in Dighton until the business closed. He was later employed at the former Bacon Felt Company in Taunton. He retired from his work as a machine operator at age 60. When in Taunton, he was a communicant of St. Anthony Church. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Lionel R. Botelho of Wareham and Joseph R. Botelho of Attleboro, with whom he and his wife resided; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home at 8 a.m. Thursday, followed by a funeral Mass at St. Anthony Church at 9 a.m. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Taunton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials made to one's favorite charity.
