Carl "Curly" F. Adkins, age 74, of Abingdon, MD passed away on September 5, 2012 at Stella Maris Hospice in Timonium, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Percy Coleman and Wilhelmina Francis Adkins.
He retired after 43 years from Power & Combustion, Inc., where he was a Steamfitter with Local Union 438.
An avid sports fan, he attended many games of the Colts, Ravens and Orioles. He was also an avid bowler and golfer and was a member of Winters Run Golf Club and an active member of AA. He loved his dogs Bella and Rambo.
Mr. Adkins is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia A. Dufour Adkins of Abingdon, MD; sons, Carl P. Adkins and wife, Deborah, of Bel Air, MD and Philip C. Visitation will be held at McComas Funeral Home, P.A., Abingdon, MD on Friday, September 7, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home in Abingdon on Saturday, September 8 at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Union Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Joppa, MD.
