Mrs. C.R. DeLong 1940 Bridgewater Bulletin

Following a lingering illness there passed away at her home here on Wednesday, December 18th, Alice Lantz DeLong, wife of C.R. DeLong. The deceased was a daughter of the late Elizabeth and David Lantz and was born at the home farm 82 years ago, where she has since resided.

The deceased was loved by all who knew her, not only for her fine personality and kindly ways, which will never be forgotten, but for her gracious Christian influence on those with whom she came in contact in daily life. The memory of her hospitality will long be cherished by many.

A life-long, faithful member of the Baptist Church, always keenly interested in the many organizations, particularly the Womens' Missionary Society of which she was a charter member, the late Mrs. DeLong will be greatly missed in church circles. She was also interested in community organizations, taking an active part in the Womens' Institute and Red Cross until ill health forced her to give up the work. On September 15th, 1936, she and her husband celebrated they 50th. wedding anniversary. For a number of years she taught in the public schools in various parts of the county and left many pleasant memories of her good deeds. She is survived in her immediate family by her husband; three sons and one daughter, Earl of San Francisco; Vernon of Mansfied, Massachusetts; David of Columbus, Ohio; Mrs. Minnie Oyler, at home. One son, Emery, predeceased her seventeen years ago. Nine grandchildren survive; also one brother, Emerson of Mansfield, Massachusetts.
