In 1900 Barney was working for George Boice as a farm hand in Mason Co.
Barney came to America when he was 15 years and located in Havana. Barney and Barbara moved to Lincoln, Logan Co , IL. in 1908. Abraham Sours made his home with them along with Barbara's children.
He died after being struck in the head by a falling plank while working at the Spellman Elevator Co in Chesterdale. He passed away at St Clara's Hospital the morning after the accident.
His obit reported he was well liked and steady at his work as an engineer and elevator man.
