Mrs. Fannie J. Carson, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2012 at her home after a brief illness. She was the second of eleven children born to the late Rufus Carzelle and Eular Van Eaton Foster in Mocksville, NC. As a young widow, she relocated to Winston-Salem from Mocksville with her young children. After arriving to Winston-Salem, she joined the Kimberly Park Holy Church where she remained and attended faithfully for as long as her health permitted. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by two daughter, Sandra Woodruff and Doris Harvey. One grandson Victor Carson. She leaves Morn and cherish her quiet life, Four daughters; Virginia Hampton of Walkertown, NC; Helen Woods and Fannie M. Cato of Winston-Salem and Bernice Poston of Fayettesville, GA. One son Charles (Sandra) Carson of Winston Salem. Two sisters Mary Williams and Annie Arnold. 14 grandchildren 3 of which she raised as her own, Sylvia Harvey of Pfafftown, NC; Lisa Hardaman (Kev) of Winston-Salem and Willette (Oscar) Hines of Goldsboro, NC. 26 great-grand, two great-great grands. A Celebration of life will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Kimberly Park Holy Church. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the services. Interment will follow at Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The remains may be viewed today from 2:00 until 6:00 at Douthit. The family will assemble and leave from the home of a daughter, Virginia Hampton. We give thanks to Dr. J. Hopkins and the 11th floor Medical Team at Baptist Hospital and Hospice, Palliative east and Senior Services. We especially thank Linda (Red) Young for all the Love and Care that you gave to our mother. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
