Harry Scott Roembke 51, COO of Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, passed away on September 9, 2012, in Cleveland Hospital after fighting a long time illness. Scott passed away with his wife, son, and family members at his side.

Scott was born in Bloomington, Indiana, on November 26, 1960 and spent his childhood and teen years in Indianapolis. He married Darcy Durham Roembke in 1984, and they have a son, Christopher.

Scott is survived by his wife, son, parents Harry and Mary Lou Roembke, and his brothers and sisters: Greg (Jane) Roembke, Carol Roembke, Diane Roembke (Tom) Bohannon, Mark (Sharon) Roembke, Bradd (LeighAnn) Roembke, and Peggy (Kurt) Roembke Schleter. He also leaves behind 17 nieces and nephews and 12 great nieces and nephews.

Scott graduated from Thomas Carr Howe High School in Indianapolis Class of 1979. He attended and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with an Associates of Arts, while serving in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant.

He lived his life fulfilling his passion for Indy Car Racing. After landing a job with Patrick Racing in 1986, Roembke joined Bobby Rahal and Carl Hogan in 1991 where he became team manager. He was promoted to chief operating officer in 2000 at Rahal/Letterman Racing. He was part of two race winners — Emerson Fittipaldi's 1989 win at Patrick Racing and Buddy Rice's 2004 win at Rahal Letterman Racing.

Second to racing, he had a passion for barbershop harmony and was a member of the Circle City Sound, participating in two International Contests. Scott loved attending Barbershop contests. Scott was a huge fan of IU, the Colts and the Chicago Cubs.
