Ziesel Widow Service Tuesday
Mrs. Vera M. Ziesel, 88, widow of the late Clarence C. Ziesel, former president and chairman of the board of Ziesel Brothers Company, died Saturday at the Americana Healthcare Center, where she was a resident for 10 months.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church, and was active in the church for many years. She was the daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. C.K. Runyon, and her husband was a prominent civic worker.
She was born May 24, 1889, in Jeffersonville. She married Clarence April 10, 1913, in Elkhart. He died March 12, 1963.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Danforth D. (Mary Jean) Williams and Mrs. Walter G. (Margery) Krumwiede Jr., both of Elkhart, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Hartzler Gutermuth Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First Congregational Church, with the Rev. Richard Nielsen officiating. Her body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Rice Cemetery.
Longtime employees of Ziesel's will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to the church, the YMCA or the pre-school division of Aux Chandelles.
