HIGDON Jewell Elizabeth Tinker Ewing, 73, passed away, Wednesday, April 27, 2011. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, a homemaker, and a member of Porter Road Church of God.She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Ewing; parents, Jack and Lorene McBryar; sister, Betty Sue Smith; brother, Fred McBryar; son, Terry Tinker; granddaughter, Denise Smith.Survivors include her daughter, Pat (Chris) Brown; stepdaughter, Rose Ewing; son, Donnie Tinker and step-son, Dale Ewing; sisters, Verda Ridge, Evelyn Ewing, Joyce Manis; brothers, Sherman McBryar and Cecil McBryar; granddaughter, Cheryl Smith; great-grandchildren, Cole and David Spurgeon, Stephanie Walker.Funeral services will be held 4 p.m. EDT today, May 1, at the Moore Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Ernest Lamb and Tommy Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park.Visitation will be held noon-4 EDT today at Moore Funeral Home.Arrangements made by Moore Funeral Home.

DEKALB COUNTY, Alabama -- Jewell Elizabeth Tinker Ewing died April 27, 2011, when a tornado struck DeKalb County. She was 73.
Ewing was described as a "loving wife, mother, grandmother, a homemaker, and a member of Porter Road Church of God."
Ewing's son, Terry "Tub" Tinker, 50, also died in the storm.
