John George Enders was the seventh child of Philip Christian Enders (1740-1809) and Anna Apolonia Degen Enders (1746-1796), German immigrants who came to Pennsylvania in 1764. John George was a farmer who married Catherine Bowman (1778-1833) and had 11 children.
