Funeral services for Mrs. Lillian O. Monroe will be at 2:30 PM Saturday, September 15, 2012 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Jena, La. with Rev. David Hoffpauir officiating. Interment will follow in the Belah Cemetery in Trout under the direction of Hixson Bros. of Jena. Visitation will be from 5pm to 9pm Friday, September 14, 2012 at the funeral home and from 8am until time of service at 2:30 pm Saturday, September 15, 2012.

Mrs. Monroe 86, of Trout, LA was born on January 28, 1926 to the union of Arch A. and Ellie Ganey Gray and passed from this life on September 13, 2012 at LaSalle Nursing Home in Jena. She was Baptist by faith and worked as a cafe waitress.

She is survived by two sons, Jerry Tarver of Trout and Rev. Ronnie Tarver of Jena; one brother, Major Gray of Chehalis, WA; 5 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, W.C. Monroe; Parents, brother, Houston Gray and sister,Thelma Allen. Serving as pallbearers will be Stephen Flaherty, Wayde Flaherty, James Flaherty, Cory Garrett, Joey Smith and Randy Waits.
