Richard Barry, son of John Barry, who resides south of this village, met with a peculiar accident last week. While visiting at the home of a neighbor and playing with one of the children, he scratched his thumb with a pin on the child's clothing. Shortly afterward his hand began to swell and a physician was summoned, who found that blood poisoning had set in.
On Sunday he was taken to the Homeopathic hospital in Rochester, and later his condition was reported as favorable and it was thought no amputation would be necessary.
