Mack Rice, one of Tuscola's younger business men, died at the home of Mrs. W. A. Thornsbrue in this city on Monday afternoon at about four o'clock, following a sickness of several weeks from heart trouble. Mr. Rice had been in the shoe business here for several years, having charge of the shoe store at the corner of South Main street and Central avenue. The firm was known as Rice and Thornsbrue, Mr. Rice and Mr. Fred Thornsbrue being the partners in the firm. The death is particularly a sad one in the community in that the death of Mrs. Rice had occurred just five weeks ago on Monday and at about the same hour in the day as that at which the death of Mr. Rice occurred, and they leave two small children, Dean, aged five and Maxine, aged one year. The deceased was a son of Martin Rice, a prominent farmer near Camargo, and was 33 years old. The funeral will be held at some time on Wednesday, but the hour and place had not yet been decided upon on Monday evening.
