Chris Ann Watkins, 59, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away July 15, 2012 at her home. Memorial services will be 7 p.m., Thurs., July 19 at Beaumont Baptist Church, 8319 Independence Ave., Kansas City, Missouri 64123. Visitation will be 6-7 p.m., prior to services. The family suggests memorial contributions to Beaumont Baptist Church for Hope on the Hill Ministries, a shelter for distressed women, which she helped found.

Chris worked most of her working life as a nurse at Samuel Rogers Health Center. She was a devoted member of Beaumont Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her sons Kelly Joseph Watkins (1999) and Jeremy Lee Watkins (2000). Survivors include her husband Lee Watkins, sons Lynn Butler, Chad Butler and Marcus Watkins; all of Kansas City, Missouri, daughter Veronica Watkins of Maryville, Missouri, sisters Ellen Lynn Garnett of Kansas City, Missouri and Kathy Countryman of Ft. Mohave, Arizona, 2 nieces, 2 nephews and many grandchildren.
