He enjoyed playing the fiddle along with brother Paul providing lively music for dances during his younger years.
He married, March 14, 1925, at the age of twenty nine to Mary Lou Schitoskey and began their family consisting of Geraldine, Ernestine, Joy and Clayton McKenzie.
He enjoyed farming raising crops to provide for his family and livestock while helping his wife in the operation of the dairy and cattle business. They retired in the late 1960's.
He died one month after celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.
He was survived by his wife, all four children as well as grandchildren.
