Pauline was a daughter of Mary Novak and Carl Ujlaki. Her parents were not married. On Pauline's baptism record at St. Rochus Church, Johnstown, Pennsylvania, her name was listed as Paulina.
Around the age of 18, in 1927 on April 28, she married James Raimar.
Most of Pauline's records were destroyed in the Johnstown Flood of 1940
Pauline and Jim had daughters Peg Connelly and Ginger Sherman and Betty Oxnam,and a son James Raimar.
Pauline worked as a waitress when Betty was a baby.
As a child Pauline and her brother George lived in St. Paul's Roman Catholic Orphan Asylum of Pittsburgh, Location site 4- Noblestown Road (Crafton/Idlewood) AKA St. Paul's Orphan Sociey or Holy Family Insitute.
Pauline worked for many families outside the orphanage, in and around Johnstown and Pittsburgh,PA. The Gildays was one of the families, that she remembered being treated well.
Pauline was a stay at home mom. She was active in Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. As a child she remembers Babe Ruth visiting her Orphanage, and shaking hands with him. Her husband Jim worked in security for the Pittsburgh pirates and she was able to see the games at a discounted price, this is why she loved the Pittsburgh Pirates Baseball Team. She was a strong Republican.
