Reg began his working life a labourer, but around the time of his marriage he began working as a clerk for the tramways where he worked for most of the remainder of his life. According to his will Reg was also a poultry farmer during the mid-1940s.
Reginald died at Mt St Evins Private Hospital in Fitzroy at the age of 66. He and his wife Florrie did not have any children.
