He was commissioned on 5/14/1857 as a 2nd Lieutenant. Subsequent service in US Army until his death with the following promotions: 1st Lieut 5/14/1861, Capt 11/23/1861, Major 7/4/1863 by Brevet (Vicksburg, MS) Originally he was buried at Ft. Stanton but was moved to Santa Fe National June 1896, and was again removed and buried at Arlington National, Oct 1920.
