William served in Civil War in North Carolina 7th Infantry under A.P. Hill. He received a parole in Charlotte, NC in 1865. Interestingly, his father-in-law also served...but for the Union.
William had a son with Emma, Burl.
William and Harriett also had a son Harvey Cooke Still. There also was another daughter that was Harriett's by a previous marriage May Belle.
He was employed by Swift and Co. at the time of his death.
