Eldest daughter of Lawrence Lafayette Sandridge and Grace Nugent. Marie moved to California with her infant son, Robert (Bob) Wallace during WWII and worked as a riveter/welder building ships for Consolidated Steel in Wilmington, California. She married Walter (Fred) Howells shortly after the end of the War and they had two children, Walter (Walt) Howells II and Marie Annette. The family made their home in the Los Angeles South Bay area for over 50 years.
