Reginald E. "Reggie" Allen, 57, of Sidney Center, New York passed away on Monday, Aug. 26, 2002, at his residence.

He was born Feb. 1, 1945, in Walton, the son of Ernest and Mary (Jacobson) Allen.

He married Kathleen Dolan Cusano on July 22, 1984, in Scotia.

Reggie graduated from the O'Neill High School in Walton in 1963. He graduated from the University of Maine in 1997, where he received a master's degree in science and business education.

From 1994 to 1999, he was an admissions counselor at the New England Job Corps in Portland, Maine. Before that he served with the U.S. Navy, and retired from active duty with 22 years of service.

A lifelong area resident, Reggie was a member of the Northfield Community Church, the American Legion and the Brunswick, Maine, Elks Club.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Allen, of Sidney Center; his mother, Mary Allen of Sidney Center; his children, Melissa Cusano of Scotia, Bryan Allen of Colorado, Christopher Cusano of Clifton Park, Dennis Allen of Sidney Center, and Rebecca Allen of Oneonta. He is also survived by his sisters and brothers, Barbara Lathan of Walton, Floyd Allen of Sidney Center, Howard Allen of Oneida, and Virginia O'Dell of Walton; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
