Book states birthplace as Stockbridge, Mass. Family genealogy says Elizabethtown, NJ. Spouse: Mary Ballard m. 4 Sept 1783, maybe at Stockbridge, Mass. (d. 1824 Binghamton, NY). Two of Edward's children lived in Michigan and that is what probably drew him here. His daughter Mary (Mrs. James McKinney) lived in Sturgis, and son Edwin Edwards married a Nancy Williams who died in Waterford MI. in 1836.
