My Uncle Bob was born in Butler County, Pennsylvania to Lester H. and Ada H. Moffit. His siblings were Richard M. (born in 1915); Raymond M. (born in 1918); Wanda L. (born in 1921); Constance M. (born in 1924); James L. (born in 1925); Donald D. (born in 1925) and Delores I. (born in 1927). He was married to Lillian J. Moffitt about 1947 and they divorced in 1955. Their children were Mark S. Moffitt, James Edward Moffitt born in 1948 and Charles Moffite (1951-2002). Sadly, his son Charles passed away in 2002 due to injuries sustained in a car accident on highway 210 in Rocky Point. Uncle Bob was married to my Dad's sister ROSA LEE LEWIS MOFFITT around 1957. He joined the Air Force in 1938, and retired from the Air Force as a Master Sergeant around 1960. He served in WWII and Korea. Uncle Bob and Aunt Rosa lived on a large plot of land near the Cape Fear River in Rocky Point, NC. In the 70's, he worked at the state ports in Wilmington, NC. After Aunt Rosa passed away in 1979, Uncle Bob lost touch with the family and moved to Florida around 1984 with his granddaughter. He was a very sweet, kind and good-hearted person. He is deeply missed.
