Thomas Darcy b abt 1807 in Dublin, Ireland , the son of Christopher Darcy and mother unknown, and was baptized at St. Mary's Church. He married Elizabeth Lane June 2, 1828 in Dublin, Ireland at St. Mary's Church. Thomas and Elizabeth and their family came to America March 23, 1848 on the Highland Mary. The ship sailed from Liverpool England and landed in NYC. The family I believe stayed in NY, but may of ventured to PA as their daughter, Annie, is sometimes listed as being born there. Thomas died January 17, 1860 in Manhattan and is buried in the plot at Calvary cemetery in Woodside, Queens, NY, that Elizabeth purchased on January 18, 1860. The plot contains a total of five burials those listed on the tombstone plus William Darcy whose Date of death was January 17, 1893.
The family had started a successful awning business and in the Trow NYC directory 1866-67 lists the company as Darcy Brothers Awnings at 136 4th Ave. The brothers listed are Jerome, Peter J., Richard, and Thomas. Elizabeth Lane Darcy died August 13, 1883 and is buried in Calvary cemetery with Thomas in the family plot. Thomas Darcy and Elizabeth Lane had at least 10 children.
