Annie Rosina was one of seven children (three daughters and four sons) born to Daniel Walter and Jane Sophia (Hawkins) O'Hara. At the age of nine she came to this country with her family from England, leaving Liverpool and arriving in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 25 March 1908 on the steamship Merion.
The family settled in New York City where she met George Otto Ahrens and the couple were married 24 September 1920 in St. James Methodist Church in New York, New York.
Annie and George had four children: George Daniel, Marion Ruth, Warren Henry and Charles Walter.
George preceded her in death on 31 August 1959. Annie later moved to Florida and then to Houston, Texas where she lived for many years near her children and grandchildren.
