Karren Phyllip Boguslawski, 73, of Jerome, passed away Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, after succumbing to injuries as a result of a vehicle accident in which his wife, Lorna, died on Aug. 15.

He was born March 23, 1939, to Felix and Ina Boguslawski at St. Valentine's Hospital in Wendell, Idaho. He grew up on a dairy farm in Jerome with his three siblings, went to school in Jerome and Shoshone. He married the love of his life, Lorna June Kulhanek on Nov. 9, 1957. A year later, they moved to Jackson, Wyo., to work for Aslett Construction. With news of Felix, severely burned from an accident on the farm, they came home to help family. Mom and Dad started their own milk hauling business with Challenge Creamery in Jerome, employing his father, brothers and other family. They sold that business and bought a farm close to our grandparents northeast of Jerome. His Uncle Lenny lived and worked on the farm with Dad until his death. He achieved his dream by becoming partners in farming with his sons until their retirement in 2002.

Dad was a board member for many years on the Jerome Highway District, Sugarbeet Growers Association and the Northside Soil Conservation District. He was very active in the community and known for his compassion and love of farming and a champion of its causes.

Mom and Dad had six children, Marcus (Sandy), Cheri (Russ), Phyllip (Linda), Alan (Kristi), Russell and Rachelle; 16 grandchildren, Brandy, Jeremy, Wen, James, Jessica, Jennifer, Jess, Tom, Beth, Alex, Rayden, Emma, Larissa, Hannah, Beka and Tommy; and two great-grandchildren, Riley and Reagan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorna of 55 years; a brother, Gary; his mother, Ina; father, Felix; and his uncle, Lenny. He is survived by his children; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; his brother, Larry; a sister, Sondra; a few of his uncles; and an aunt.

His service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at St. Jerome's Catholic Church, 216 Second Ave. E. in Jerome. A funeral procession will follow to the Jerome Cemetery, where both Karren and Lorna will be interred.Arrangements are under the care of Farnsworth Mortuary of Jerome.
