Bio by Dick Williams

Sam and Jane Acheson lived on a farm near Westhope, ND. They raised my mother, Ellen Mae Kirby and her siblings, Elden(Bud), Fern, Earl, and Kenneth Kirby on the farm. Sam and Jane were my mother's gt aunt and uncle. Janes parents were my gt gt grandparents. In later life they moved to Bemidji, MN. I remember as kids that we would drive over to the farm and have dinner or lunch and Jane almost always served Peaches and spam. Sometimes my dad would take a dressed chicken over to them and we would go over later and have dinner with them of chicken and dumplings. Later when just my Dad and I were the only ones left on our farm, we would go over for a visit and in the evening Jane would mix hot toddies for Dad and Sam and she and I would split a can of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer. I remember that Sam always liked to listen to the Minot Mallards games on the radio.
In later life they moved to Bemidji, MN. Sam gave me his old 32 Chevrolet car. I was 18 and that was my first car. I still have it.
