Former Superintendent Of Plymouth Township Passes Away

Attorney David B. Gildea, 454 Bennett street, Luzerne, former assessor of Luzerne Borough and at one time superintendent of Plymouth Township school district, died at his home last night. He was seventy-six years or age.
Born In Donegal Countv Ireland, he came to this country in 1864. He was a newspaper correspondent in Hazleton and then took up the teaching profession. Later he taught school in the Hazleton section and still later in Kingston Township.
In 1899 Mr. Gildea was admitted to the Luzerne County Bar after studying In the office of the late Attorney John T. Lenahan and in 1905 he was admitted to the Appelate Courts.
He served as assesior In Luzerne Borough for ten years and later served as superintendent of Plymouth Township school district. He was active in the affairs of St. Ignatius Church and its Holy Name society.
Survivors are his widow, the former Anna Gilboy, and the following children: Mary, James and David at home; Sister Davidica of Misericordia College; Sister Marianna at the Sacred Heart Convent in Plains and Thomas, a student for the priesthood in Genoa, Italy.
