A native of Spartanburg County, son of the late Horace and Edith Odell Arledge, he was a retired employee of Duke Power Company, a U.S. Army Veteran, he was a Mason and a Shriner and a member of Overbrook Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Grace Moore Arledge of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Mary Ann Arledge of Mauldin; a grandson, Jason Mathew Arledge; a sister-in-law, Rose Arledge; six nieces, Darla Arledge, Charlotte Arledge, Caroline Arledge, Genea Arldege and Edie Arledge and four nephews, Randy Arledge, Eddie Arledge, Jimmy Arledge and Bobby Arledge.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wood Mortuary conducted by Rev. Dale Sutton. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Arledge, Stan Gambrell, Alan Gambrell, Kevin Hunter, J.L Mitchell and Kenny Evans.
Visitation will be held 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at Wood Mortuary.
