E.D. Murdock, age 66, 2907 Shahan Avenue, died this morning at the residence after an illness of 7 years. Funeral will be announced by Collier-Butler pending the arrival of out of town relatives. Murdock was a member of the Baptist church, employed with Republic Steel for 25 years. Survived by his wife, Mrs. Pearl Murdock; one daughter, Mrs. Burnie Norris, Alabama City; and one son, John L. Murdock, California and one grandchild. (Article in The Gadsden Times)

Another article on Sat. Dec. 30, 1950 The Gadsden Times: E.D. Murdock's funeral 2 p.m. Forrest Avenue Baptist Church. Burial in Forrest Cemetery. Native of Marshall County, but resided in this county for a number of years.

Although there is no tombstone for E.D. Murdock, Forrest Cemetery officials state his grave is located in section 6 behind the tombstone inscribed Clements. The pot of flowers mark the spot of grave. His wife, Mattie Pearl McCallie Murdock Howell, is buried alongside his grave.

E.D. and Mattie Pearl's son, John Loui Murdock, is buried in Forrest Cemetery - military section behind the chapel.
