Dwight M. "Dub" Ackerman, age 62, of Robeson Township, PA, died on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at the Reading Hospital, Reading, PA.
He was the husband of LIVING) Ackerman, with whom he shared 29 years of marriage.
Born in Pottstown, PA, he was a son of the late Dr. Harold M. Ackerman and Marie (Bitting) Ackerman.
Dwight was a 1967 graduate of Boyertown High School and earned a B.S. in Education from Bloomsburg University, where he served as past board member of their alumni association.
He was a marketing representative in the publishing industry and affinity fundraising for approximately 20 years.
Passionate about helping others, he served as member and past president of Pheasants Forever, Berks -Lebanon Chapter for 25 years, the Hay Creek Watershed Association, and various other fundraising
organizations.
An avid sports fan, he and his wife Carol enjoyed watching all of the Philadelphia professional teams as well as college sports. He was an avid skier, fished in local streams and ponds, and hunted deer and small game.
Surviving in addition to his wife is one son, one sister and two nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jay M. Ackerman.
Interment will be in Pottstown Cemetery - West, Pottstown, PA.
