Francisco "Frank" Alviso, the son of Francisco/Frank Alviso and Rosa Smith, was baptized at Mission San Carlos on 19 May 1876. His Padrinos were Manuel Dutra and Cleofas Smith.
Frank married Bessie Garcia in Gonzales, Monterey, CA around 1897 where at least 5 of their 6 children were born.
Frank and Bessie moved to East Bakersfield around 1911 to find better and more work. Their last child, Michael Phillip was born in East Bakerfield in February 1913. Less than 5 months later Frank died of TB leaving his widow with 4 children under the age of 10. Their daughter Lucretia died just 3 weeks later. In October their eldest son Albert died of an accidental gunshot, possibly self inflicted. Bessie packed up her children and rode the train home with the body of her son to be buried in Gonzales near her family.
