Robert Eugene "Buck" Fink, 85, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed from this life on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at his home.


Born on May 28, 1927 in Middletown, Maryland, he was the son of the late John Alvie and Bessie Mae (Long) Fink. His wife of 47 years, Louella Mary (Shoemaker) Fink, preceded him in death on August 22, 2003.

He was employed for 48 years as a truck driver with Earl W. H. Mercer & Son, Inc. in Frederick, Maryland. He was formerly a member of the Church of God in Boonsboro.

He is survived by his nephew (whom his wife and he raised) Wayne E. Shoemaker of Boonsboro, MD, as well as many other nieces and nephews.

Buck was the last remaining member of his family and in addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Robert E. Fink Jr. in 1949, and his eight sisters and three brothers.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 24, 2012 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, in Boonsboro. Rev. James Jones will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will follow at the Boonsboro Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 23, 2012, at the funeral home.
