He was born on June 21, 1943 to the late Fordyce R. and Geneva P. (Sterrett) Allen.
Terry was a United States Army Veteran and was a retired machinist for GM in Mansfield. He was a life member of the Amvets Post 95 and the Colonial City Moose Lodge.
He is survived by a sister-in-law and caregiver, Pam Cline of Mount Vernon, sister-in-laws, Julie Moore of Howard, Carolyn "Susie" Cline and Helen Wilson both of Mount Vernon, a brother-in-law, David (Patty) Cline of Mount Vernon, nephews, Chris (Angel) Allen and Corey (Ellie) Cline both of Mount Vernon, nieces, Teresa (Jeff) Hawkins of Gambier, Valine Cline of Howard, Tammy (Mike) Bowers and Annette (Dwayne) Hershner both of Mount Vernon, great nephew Isaac Seavolt, great niece Reagan Cline, many other nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and his canine companion "Dusty".
Terry was preceded in death by his wife, Nora Jean Allen in 1997, a brother, Gary Allen, sister-in-laws, Betty McNamara, Shirley Lawrence and Maxine Cline, brother-in-laws, James R. Cline Jr., Wesley C. Cline and Robert E. Cline.
Friends may call on Tuesday, September 4, 2012, from 4:00 – 8:00PM at Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 11:00AM. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens with Military Graveside Honors being conducted by the Knox County Joint Veteran's Council.
