Tami Gates was a 1978 graduate of Ardmore High School (Alabama). She was the band drum major, Homecoming Queen, and selected Miss AHS by her peers. Tami was a great friend and full of mischief and energy.

After high school, Tami married James Smith and they had one daughter, Stephanie (born in Feb. 1986).

At the time of her death, Tami was married to Tony Graviet.
She was driving across the Tennessee River Bridge heading into Decatur, Alabama, when she suffered a epilectic seizure. Tami's car went off the bridge and into the river, where she drowned.

Tami is missed by so many and will never be forgotten.
