HARRODSBURG - John B. Huffman , 70, of Harrodsburg died Jan. 27, 2003, at Memorial Herman Hospital Medical Center in Houston.
The Harrodsburg native was retired from Western Kentucky Gas, a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church, a life member of the American Legion, a former member of the Harrodsburg Kiwanis Club, Optimist Club and the Bluegrass and Mercer County Home Builders associations, served on the Mercer County School Board, was active in Mercer County Little League football and baseball and was a Korean War Air Force veteran. He was a son of the late Mansford Ben and Ophia Peavler Huffman . He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence Huffman and Matt Huffman .
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel with burial and military rites in Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Thursday and after 7:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Harrodsburg Baptist Church Life Center.
Survivors include his wife, Cordelia Yeager Huffman ; two sons, Michael W. Huffman of Bowling Green and Robert B. Huffman of Columbus, Ga; two daughters, Susan Lynn Coy and Sandy Winburn, both of Harrodsburg; a sister, Margie Barnett of Harrodsburg; four grandsons; four granddaughters and a great-granddaughter.
