Faye was born August 12, 1910, near Mt. Moriah, MO to Charley and Nettie Hamilton Williams. Her family moved to Adel in 1918. She married Oscar Roderick Mau on June 20, 1932 in Rock Island, IL. Faye was a devoted wife and a loving aunt, great- aunt, and great-great aunt. She was employed at Kresges, Royal Union Life Building Cigar Store, Younkers, and was a hostess for senior citizens on S.C.O.T. Tours. She was a member of Daughters of the Nile, Netaker Temple, captain of their drill team, Y.M.C.A. Young Matrons, Younkers Choir, Adel Historical Society, and her church. Faye enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing cards.
She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Leaman of Mission, TX; sister-in-law, Wynette Williams of Waukee; a host of nieces and nephews; and her good friend C.B. Clark of Adel.
She was preceded in death by her husband Oscar "Dutch"; parents; brothers, Harry "Hap" and Guy "Pie" Williams; sisters, Opal Peterson and Edythe Hawbaker.
