Alex Todd Roosevelt, 47, of Winterhaven, passed away at JFK Memorial Hospital in Indio, California. He was born in Fort Yuma. He was a construction laborer.

A wake will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Yuma Mortuary Chapel, with prayer services at 3:30 p.m. Deacon Oscar Chavez will officiate.

Funeral services will be 5 p.m. Saturday at Quechan Big House. Cremation will be 5 a.m. at Quechan Cemetery.

Alex Todd Roosevelt went to be with our creator on September 3, 2012. He was born on February 24, 1965 in Ft. Yuma.

Alex attended San Pasqual High School, San Jacinto Jr. College and Haskell Indian University. He was an outgoing person; he played baseball, in college. He was employed at Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, CA as a groundskeeper for 10 years then returned to Winterhaven. There he was employed with Quechan Housing and Quechan Casino Resort; he also worked at various other places in Yuma. He enjoyed being with his grandchildren and loved to gamble at all the casinos. He had many friends and family which will always miss him.

Alex was preceded in death by his mother, Linda M Roosevelt; father, William Hill; sister, Mary Machichi; grandfather, Edward Roosevelt; nephew, Marlow N. Jose III; niece, Precious Numkena.

Alex is survived by, daughters, Linda Roosevelt, Fawn Duro; brothers, Malow Jose Jr. and Rodrick Johnson; sisters, Dawn and Melissa Roosevelt Marla and Valerie Jose, Debbie Hill, Sherry Navarro; grandchildren, Alexzandria Roosevelt, Michael Duro, Rebecca , George Jr., and Dennis Subish; nieces, Joselyn Jose, Ashley, Marissa and Sarah Laurenzana, Maria Munoz, Rachael and Danielle Johnson, Jolene Vasquez and Lisa Thomas; nephews, Joseph Jose, Duro Johnson, Charles Jose, Manuel Flores Jr., Joseph, Matthew, Samuel and Jacob Laurenzana, Matthew, Will, and Mark Vasquez.

Viewing will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2012 between 3:00pm and 4:00pm at Yuma Mortuary, services will start at 3:30pm. Traditional Tribal ceremony will be at the Quechan Big House, Saturday, September 8, 2012 beginning at 5:00pm to 5:00am Sunday morning.

Pallbearers are Duro Johnson, Joseph N Jose, Matt, Sam and Joseph Laurenzana, Joe and Emo Roosevelt, Johnny Cabera, Rudy Hopkins, Gilman Amador, Morales and Chano Escalanti.
