She was born January 1, 1952, in Plattsburgh, New York, the daughter of Charles and Winifred (Taylor) Nolan.
Carol was a home health aide in the surrounding areas. She was a member of Holy Name Church.
Carol had a heart of gold, always willing to help anyone in their time of need. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. From a son-in-law's view, he could not ask for a better mother-in-law.
She was survived by her husband, Daniel Betters, whom she married June 26, 1993; a daughter and son-in-law, Francine and David Hardin of Morrisonville; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard/Nick and Pamela Bola of Morrisonville; a stepdaughter, Amy Lynn Betters of Keeseville; four granddaughters, Ashlee, Nikki Lynn, Jordan and Jade; her sisters and brothers, Patricia and John Sawyer of Au Sable Forks, Vera Viera of Plattsburgh, Kelley and Dean Sheer of Willsboro, Judy Margaret Nolan of Au Sable Forks, Arthur and Judy Nolan of AuSable Forks, Charles Edward Nolan Jr., of Saranac, Philip and Sandy Nolan and Rick and Sue Nolan, all of Au Sable Forks; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday, May 10, 2003, at 2 p.m. at the Holy Name Catholic Church in Au Sable Forks. Cremation followed the church service. Burial was in Holy Name Cemetery.
