YORK—Janet R. (Slonaker) Brenner, 100, passed away at SpiriTrust Lutheran—Village at Sprenkle Drive on Wednesday, April 21, 2021. She was the wife of the late Gene Brenner who passed away May 22, 2012.
Born July 14, 1920 on a farm near Fairfield, Pa. She was the third of six children born to Andrew A. and Ruth B. (Sprenkle) Sloanker.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Rev. Janyce Jorgensen, pastor.
She had been employed at several banks and an insurance agency in her earlier years.
Mrs. Brenner is survived by a step-daughter, Joan Brenner; one sister, Helen Stahley; grandsons, Richard Caldarone (Elizabeth) and Jonathan Roberts (Brooke) and two great grandchildren, Lily and Dagny. She was preceded in death by her children, Helen C. (Cathy) Caldarone and Richard P. Roberts; one sister, Esther Miller; three brothers, Allen, Harry and Ira Slonaker; former husbands, Philip B. Roberts and Henry Bentzel.
A Celebration of Life Service for family only will be held 10AM, Thursday April 29, 2021 at Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York. Officiating the service will be her pastor, the Rev. Janyce Jorgensen. Burial will be held in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
