Milla W. Sawyer, a native of the Bay state, and a daughter of Silas Sawyer, who belonged to one of the old Massachusetts families married Mr. Baker in Massachusetts, September 7, 1851. They now have three living children- Agnes M., wife of John L. Wells, a business man of Chicago; Howard Grant, a merchant of Hampton; and Silas Sawyer, who is in business with his brother in Hampton. They also lost three children, two in infancy, and a daughter, Marion E., who died in 1896. The mother of this family passed away in May, 1887, and was laid to rest in Hampton Cemetery. She was an active worker in the Congregational Church, and a most estimable lady.
