"Arlene Anna Blohm
Leroy township, Audubon County
born 2 -14-1915
Age 6 months, 4 days
Cause of death--carbolic acid poured over face into eyes, ears, nose, and mouth by brother age 2 1/2 years old.

Child of William and Anna (Mathiesen) Blohm. Ancient belief of Danish people was that if a child died young, the spirit of that child would go into the next child born to those parents. Therefore, William and Anna named their next child Arlene Marie Blohm to honor this little one's spirit.
