Lynn Ray Edwards, age 59, of Langley, died Saturday, September 22, 2012. Lynn was born in Tulsa on August 26, 1953 to Walter and Nellie (Lister) Edwards. He grew up and attended school in Tulsa. In 1970 he joined the United States Army serving in Alaska. After his military service he worked for the Tulsa Fruit Company. He moved to Louisiana and on October 4, 1991 was united in marriage to Sandra Johnson. They moved to the Langley area around 1992 making their home in Sportman's Shores. Lynn loved fishing and making others laugh. He will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife Sandra of the home, son Andy, ten siblings Dale Warren, Donald Edwards, Robert Edwards, Johnny Edwards, Walter Edwards, Tommy Edwards, Nellie Simmons, Elizabeth Wolf, Babara Sue Bologne, and Delora Morgan; ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Nellie Edwards and brother David Edwards.
Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m., Monday, October 1, 2012 at the First Free Will Baptist Church of Fort Gibson. Interment will follow at Fort Gibson National Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home.
