"Charlie" was a key player in the Old Settlers Association of Johnson County Kansas for many years was known as Mr. Old Settlers, Charlie was known by many people. Charlie was married to Edna (Shields) Burgess in 1927.
Children: Richard Burgess, Siblings: William Frank, Myrtle (Burgess) Gibbons, Lena (Burgess) Becker, and Willard. Parents: William Nelson Burgess and Mary Jane (Cantrall) Burgess m: 1880. Charlie died of a fatal Heart Attack, falling off his horse during the 1955 Old Settlers parade, while carrying the American Flag.
