February 21, 1920 - September 24, 2012

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 28, 2012 at Annunciation Catholic Church in Mayhew Lake for Raymond H. Bemboom, age 92, who passed away Monday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Rev. Tom Becker will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Raymond Bemboom was born Feb. 21, 1920 in Mayhew Lake Township to Gerhard & Margaret (Walz) Bemboom. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II from 1941-1945 in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Ray married Rita Rajkowski on June 1, 1948 at Annunciation Catholic Church in Mayhew Lake. He lived and farmed in Mayhew Lake Township his entire life. He started and was a member of the Benton County 4-H Auction. Ray was a lifetime member of Annunciation Catholic Church where he was involved in the Knights of Columbus. He was also a lifetime member of the Gilman VFW Post #1558 and a member of the Gilman Creamery Board. Ray especially enjoyed visits from his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was always willing to have an adventure with anyone who would pick him up and take him for a drive or outing. He also enjoyed fishing trips to Canada, traveling and spending winters with relatives in Missouri, baseball, playing cards, bowling, and loved to drive tractors and his gator. Ray had a great sense of humor and always had a good joke to tell.

Survivors include his children and spouses, Carol & Jerry Schumann of Rice, Rich & Joyce of Milaca, Ron & Amy of Gilman, Linda & Don Nemeth of New London, Connie & Charlie Cowden of Ely, Ken & Ann of Sauk Rapids, Dan & Christina of Sauk Rapids, Mary Lou Paul of St. Cloud, Dean & Amy of Sauk Rapids, Laurie & Chubs Malikowski of St. Joseph, and Tammy & Denny Studenski of Sauk Rapids; brother, Tom Bemboom of St. Cloud; 45 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rita on Jan. 15, 1996; brothers, Laurence, Mark and Joe; and sisters, Roselyn Evans, Marcella (Sal) Zimmer, Marian Zimmer, and Margie Rajkowski.
