Deceased Name: William G. Call "Bill Call "
Prince charming, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend went back to our heavenly father on April 18th, 2001.
William was born to Elihu and Gertrude Permelia Call on April 8th, 1919 in Denver, Colorado. He graduated South High School in 1936.
He went on to do post-graduate work at UCLA.
In 1936 William met the love of his life, Gene Sanders, who would later become his wife, while singing in the Civic Light Opera, Maytime. William went on to become a successful opera singer and businessman. he sang many operas and other songs that he enjoyed. One of his theatrical achievements was being the singing voice of Prince Charming in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Next to his family, singing was what he loved most.
William owned and operated Mastercraft Furniture for many, many years. He was wonderful, charming, witty and had a great sense of humor. He was content with what he had, to him any problem that arose in his life was just Mickey Mouse Stuff.
He will be remembered forever for the wonderful life he lived. He will always be our "Prince Charming." We all love and miss you already.
William was preceded in death by his father and mother; sisters Ethel Tibbitts and Trudy Steel; brother Crafton Call and son Steven Call . He is survived by wife Gene S. Call ; sons Gailen (Donna) and Michael (Michelle); grandchildren Brooke, Shauna, Dayne, Brett, Mandi, ChrisDee, James, William and Taylor; and great-grandchildren Ylessa and Tate; and many more family and friends.
Friends and family may call Friday, April 20, 2001 at Larkin Sunset Gardens on 10600 So. 1700 E. between the hours of 7-9 p.m. The funeral will follow on Saturday, April 21, 2001 at Cottonwood Heights 1st Ward, 7075 So. 2245 E. at 12 noon. Friends and family may also call one hour prior to the services.
