"Mrs. Sara Hollis Keenan, life-long Trojan, former historian of the City of Troy and once active in veterans' and patriotic organizations, died last night at the Leonard Hospital after a long illness. Mrs. Keenan was born in this city 61 years ago. She was Troy's first city historian being appointed by Mayor Cornelius F. Burns during the First World War. Her home was at 105 Second Avenue. She compiled a considerable amount of data on Troy's part in the war as well as historical information of previous dates. She served also for about one year during the administration of the late Mayor James W. Fleming ... Survivors include her husband, William H. Keenan; two sons, William H. Keenan, jr., and Robert F. Keenan; a sister, Mrs. Etta Slight of Glens Falls, and a brother, Herbert J. Hollis of this city. The funeral will be private Thursday afternoon from the Fonda Funeral Home, 837 River Street.
