BAXTER D. OWENS
Baxter D. Owens, 81 of Stewartstown, died Monday at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Flora M. (Price) Owens. Born in Ashe County, N.C., he was the son fo the late James W. and Martha Lucinda (Smiley) Owens. He was retired form the former Miller Feed Company.
He is survived by three daughters, Jane R. Shellenberger of Thomasville, Betty Jo Radford of Hopkinsville, Ky., and Virgie Freeman of Darlington; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; six brothers, Clayton Owens of York, Everett Owens of Glade Spring, Va., and Elmer Owens, James Owens, Howard Owens and Roy Owens, all of Chilhowie, Va.; and a sister, Lillian Stanley of Marion, Va.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday at the Hartenstein-Orsburn Funeral Hme with Rev. Glenn L. Ridall Jr., pastor of Stewartstown Baptist Church, officiating.
Interment was in Stewartstown Cemetery.
